Melbourne Weekender
Itinerary
Day 1
Drive from Melbourne to Torquay the iconic home of Victorian surfing.
There’s a wave to suit all levels but especially you’ll want to hit up Bells Beach. This break is a stop on the World Surf League's international tour, surf like a pro and after you can hit up the National Surf Museum to see the Bells trophy.

Tonight’s accommodation is a local country cottage ...
Total driving: 2 hours
Day 2
Drive along the beautiful Great Ocean Road where blue green waves crash into sandstone cliffs on one side of the road and the black and green forests sit on the other.
Stop in Lorne for an early lunch and if time permits a quick surf or hike.
Head on to Apollo Bay and reach your eco lodge for a 4pm afternoon tea and guided wildlife walk. Learn more about the Great Otway National park and it’s creatures.
Tonight’s accommodation is a forest eco lodge with a sunset balcony room.
Afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast are included at the Lodge.
Total driving: 2 hours
Day 3
Start the day with included entry into the Cape Otway Lighthouse (opens 9am) and on to the famous 12* Apostles.
*No guarantee there are 12.
Driving on to Port Campbell for lunch and a few scenic stops, London Bridge, and the Grotto. But don’t stay too long, it’s on to Warrnambool for an afternoon surf.
Don’t surf too long, included is our very special Indigenous experience, a Twilight Tour with dinner. (include more info)

Tonight's accommodation...
Total driving: 2.5 hours
Day 4
Today’s a break from surfing as you drive on to Portland and on to volcanic country.
Stop at Cape Bridgewater and visit the Blowholes and Petrified Forest. If you're an early riser you could fit in a 2 hour return hike to visit the local seal colony.
After lunch it’s on to Mount Gambier.
The afternoon is yours to explore the sinkholes, the famous Blue Lake, and Sunken Garden.
If you're an experienced diver you could fit in a cave dive, ask us how!

Total driving: 2.5 hours
Day 5
Heading north into South Australia’s rural wine region Coonawarra. Pick up some bottles of red but don’t go too heavy on the tastings as it’s now the longest drive portion of the trip - 4 hours- on to Goolwa beach.
Have a surf, and treat yourself to that wine.
Tonight’s accommodation…
Total driving: 5 hours
Hate driving. Love wine. Let us know if you’d like an extra night in the Adelaide Hills to break up the driving and to indulge in Australia’s best wines.
Day 6
One last morning surf. Then through the scenic Mclaren Vale for more of Australia’s second largest producing wine regions.
Then it’s on to Adelaide to drop the car off no later than 4pm.
Total driving: 1.5 hours
